Abriendo Puertas/Opening Doors

Abriendo Puertas/Opening Doors is a dedicated parenting skills and advocacy initiative located in Perth Amboy, NJ, uniquely designed for Latino parents of children aged 0 to 5. This national, evidence-based program empowers parents to become their children's first teachers while equipping them with the tools to advocate effectively as their little ones navigate school. Through a series of 10 interactive workshops covering essential topics such as nutrition, positive discipline, child development, school readiness, and technology use, parents gain vital insights drawn from real-life experiences. Offered both virtually and in person, the program allows participants to connect while exploring their critical role in fostering their children's long-term development and academic success. Parents who complete the program may even take the step to become facilitators themselves, further strengthening the community. Abriendo Puertas/Opening Doors welcomes all Latino parents committed to attending all workshops at no cost, serving Middlesex County and Franklin Township in Somerset County with workshops available in both English and Spanish.
