Monisha Rey

Monisha Rey is a compassionate Licensed Social Worker (LSW) who brings a diverse range of experiences to her practice. Her journey in social work encompasses mental health counseling in high school settings, outpatient substance abuse services, case management for families engaged with DCP&P, as well as admissions and discharge planning within sub-acute rehabilitation facilities. Monisha has made significant contributions to community support for the homeless population in inner cities. With a passion for social work, she is dedicated to offering therapeutic support across various demographics, empowering individuals from all walks of life to nurture their best selves. Monisha earned her Bachelor of Arts in African American Studies from Rutgers University’s New Brunswick campus and obtained her Master’s degree in Clinical Social Work from Fordham University’s Lincoln Center campus. She is well-versed in therapeutic techniques including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), and motivational interviewing (MI). With a strengths-based approach, Monisha emphasizes resilience, equipping her clients with the education and skills needed to face adversity. She views her clients as teammates, collaborating diligently to craft personalized treatment plans that align with their aspirations. While therapy may not be magic, the mutual commitment and teamwork foster a truly transformative experience for those who engage in the process.
