Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship, based in Newton, NJ, is dedicated to training and empowering passionate individuals to become advocates for a just food system. Through our immersive, hands-on program, selected Fellows engage in organic food system education at the Allegheny Farm in Highland County, VA, and without any tuition fees, we prioritize accessibility for all. Our Fellows actively contribute to sustainable agriculture by growing and distributing a diverse range of crops, implementing innovative health care education, maintaining community and school gardens, and teaching food and ecological literacy in local schools. Additionally, they support farmers' markets and enhance access to healthy foods by developing distribution channels and collaborating with community food coalitions. This transformative experience includes six months of practical learning, followed by a Community Action Year to apply their skills with regional non-profit organizations. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the fellowship typically running from May to October.
