Stephen Deats

Stephen Deats, LCSW, is an experienced Clinical Social Worker and Therapist dedicated to helping individuals rapidly heal from both past and present trauma through the integration of proven psychological techniques and spiritual guidance. Utilizing methods such as EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Family Systems therapy, he assists clients in overcoming deep-seated hurt and finding peace in their lives. With over three decades of experience, beginning his counseling career as a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor in 1988, Stephen has developed expertise in a variety of areas, including ADHD for both adults and adolescents, addiction recovery, marital counseling, divorce recovery, anxiety, depression, unresolved grief, PTSD, and dissociative disorders. A graduate of Rutgers School of Social Work in 2000, he has been licensed as a Clinical Social Worker since then. Stephen believes that faith can be an essential resource in recovery, which he thoughtfully integrates into his professional practice, empowering his clients with a wide range of recovery tools drawn from both personal experience and extensive training. His warm and compassionate approach fosters a safe environment where clients can explore their issues and work towards healing and growth.
