Welcome to his practice! Carvel Seepersad is a dedicated Licensed Associate Counselor who obtained his Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Walden University in 2014. He also holds a Play Therapy Certificate from Capella University, earned in 2017. With extensive experience in working with adults in the substance abuse population, Carvel has also made significant contributions to the mental health of adolescents and children. He specializes in addressing behavioral issues and mental health diagnoses, including ADHD and Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD). His therapeutic approach is grounded in Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy, developed by Albert Ellis, which focuses on addressing irrational beliefs and negative thoughts that can lead to emotional and behavioral concerns. Carvel is passionate about encouraging self-reflection among his clients, helping them navigate their personal challenges to foster a positive and healthier lifestyle. He employs the Nurtured Heart Approach®, alongside Play Therapy and Solution-Focused Therapy, to support children and adolescents in discovering their own greatness.
