Abriendo Puertas/Opening Doors

Abriendo Puertas/Opening Doors is a vital parenting skills and advocacy program located in Basking Ridge, NJ, specifically designed for Latino parents with children aged 0 to 5. As a national, evidence-based initiative, our mission is to empower parents to become their children's first teachers and advocates as they navigate their early education. Through a series of 10 engaging workshops, parents gain essential knowledge on topics such as nutrition, positive discipline, child development, and school readiness, all drawn from real-life experiences. Our program accommodates both virtual and in-person sessions, fostering a supportive environment where parents can actively participate. Upon completing the program, parents are encouraged to take on leadership roles as facilitators, further extending their influence within the community. With a commitment to serving Latino families in Middlesex County and Franklin Township, our workshops are offered free of charge in both English and Spanish, ensuring accessibility and inclusiveness for all who wish to strengthen their parenting skills and enhance their children's academic journeys.
