The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship based in Washington, NC, provides a transformative experience dedicated to cultivating future leaders in sustainable food systems. Through immersive training at Allegheny Farm in Highland County, VA, our Fellows engage in hands-on education and advocacy aimed at building a food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic justice. We believe in making this vital program accessible by not charging tuition, allowing diverse participants to join us in promoting organic agriculture, managing community gardens, and implementing innovative health care education. Throughout the six-month fellowship, selected individuals will partner with local non-profits to work on initiatives such as developing distribution channels for healthy foods, supporting farmers markets, and mentoring incoming Fellows. Applications are accepted until March, with the fellowship running from May to October, offering a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on community food systems.
