Jan Carroll is a licensed clinical mental health counselor with extensive training and experience in helping individuals who have faced trauma, as well as adults and children adversely affected by addiction. She specializes in addressing anxiety, depression, and a variety of mental health challenges, understanding that each person seeks to find their place in the world, feel accepted, and gain control over their emotions. Jan believes in nurturing a safe internal space, which can lead to overall wellness in individual lives. She is skilled in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), a powerful technique particularly effective for treating anxiety and trauma responses. Additionally, Jan employs DBT-informed techniques to assist clients in developing emotional stability alongside mindfulness practices. Her toolbox also includes evidence-based methods such as CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), Motivational Interviewing, and ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy). Growing up in rural North Carolina and having worked in the healthcare sector for over 30 years, Jan chose to establish a private practice in the eastern part of Burke County to better serve that community.
