The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship, located in Roanoke Rapids, NC, is dedicated to fostering a just and sustainable food system by empowering individuals to become effective teachers and advocates. Our program offers six months of hands-on, experiential training at the Allegheny Farm in Highland County, VA, where selected Fellows dive into organic food system education. During their fellowship, participants engage in meaningful projects such as growing and distributing diverse crops on a market-style farm, overseeing school and community gardens, and developing innovative educational sessions focused on health. Additionally, Fellows will mentor future cohorts and collaborate with local non-profits, building distribution channels to enhance access to healthy foods in their communities. We prioritize accessibility by offering the Fellowship tuition-free, ensuring that all committed individuals can join us in creating a socially, environmentally, and economically just food landscape. Applications are due by March each year, with the fellowship experience running from May to October.
