Barbara Brown is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who believes that connection is fundamental in the therapeutic journey. Known for her genuine and approachable demeanor, she connects effortlessly with both youth and adults. With a Master’s in Social Work (MSW) from Winthrop University, along with a Certificate in Management, Barbara employs a range of creative and effective therapeutic approaches, including cognitive-behavioral therapy, client-centered counseling, solution-focused techniques, and motivational interviewing. Her aim is to empower clients by emphasizing their strengths and passions as they work towards their therapeutic goals. Barbara has extensive experience, working with individuals, couples, and families, as well as youth, including those in special education contexts. Additionally, as a Registered Drama Therapist (RDT), she incorporates drama therapy techniques into sessions, always respecting client preferences. She also offers unique Animal Assisted Therapy (AAT) with her beloved lab/basset hound mix, Bailey, whose comforting presence can help reduce anxiety and promote social interaction among clients of all ages. Barbara is eager to support clients on their paths to feeling better and looks forward to creating a positive impact in their lives.
