Based in Mount Holly, NC, the Farm & Food Systems Fellowship is dedicated to fostering a just food system through hands-on training and advocacy. This comprehensive program empowers selected Fellows to become educators and leaders in sustainable food practices, addressing the urgent need for socially, environmentally, and economically responsible agricultural systems. Offering organic food system education without tuition fees, we ensure that access to this fellowship is open to all passionate individuals. During the six-month experiential residency at the Allegheny Farm Campus, Fellows engage in growing diverse crops, leading community garden initiatives, and integrating food literacy into educational settings. Additionally, they support farmers' markets and develop distribution channels that enhance access to healthy foods. Through collaboration with regional non-profits during our Community Action Year, these dedicated individuals implement innovative health care workshops and contribute to local food coalitions, ultimately shaping the future of food equity in their communities. Applications are accepted until March for the May to October program each year.
