Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Jacksonville, NC, is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of advocates for a just and sustainable food system. Sponsored by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, this program empowers selected Fellows through hands-on training in organic food systems, free of charge to ensure accessibility for all. Over six months, aspiring leaders engage in experiential learning at the Allegheny Farm, where they cultivate and distribute diverse crops, implement innovative health care education, and enhance food literacy in schools and communities. Following this immersive experience, Fellows embark on a Community Action Year, collaborating with local non-profit organizations to further their impact. Together, we work to support farmers' markets, promote equitable access to fresh produce, and develop community resilience in food systems.
