Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

Allegheny Mountain Institute (AMI)
Indian Trail, NC US
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship, located in Indian Trail, NC, is dedicated to empowering individuals as advocates for a socially, environmentally, and economically just food system. Through our program, selected Fellows engage in a comprehensive six-month experiential training at our Allegheny Farm Campus, where they receive hands-on education in organic food systems, community gardening, and ecological literacy. By fostering partnerships with local non-profits, our Fellows develop initiatives such as growing and distributing diversified crops, implementing innovative health education workshops, and supporting local farmers markets to enhance community access to healthy food options. With no tuition fees, we prioritize accessibility and inclusivity for all aspiring advocates. Applications for our enriching fellowship must be submitted by March, with the experience taking place from May to October, enabling participants to make a meaningful impact through a Community Action Year.
