Hendersonville, NC US
Based in Hendersonville, NC, the Farm & Food Systems Fellowship at the Allegheny Mountain Institute is dedicated to nurturing future leaders in sustainable food systems. Our program sponsors and empowers Fellows to serve as passionate advocates for a food system that is just, equitable, and environmentally sustainable. Through comprehensive organic food system education, selected Fellows engage in a six-month experiential study at our beautiful Allegheny Farm Campus in Highland County, VA, where they cultivate diverse crops, implement educational initiatives, and support community gardens. The Fellowship promotes accessibility by waiving tuition, ensuring that all participants can benefit from this transformative educational experience. Following their training, Fellows embark on a Community Action Year, applying their skills in partnership with local non-profit organizations to enhance food access, support farmers' markets, and mentor aspiring advocates. Join us in creating a brighter, healthier future through empowered food systems.
