The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Henderson, NC, is dedicated to empowering individuals to become educators and advocates for a food system rooted in social, environmental, and economic justice. Through a tuition-free program, participants engage in robust organic food system education at our Allegheny Farm Campus in Virginia. Our Fellows gain hands-on experience in diverse initiatives, including growing and distributing crops on market-style farms, maintaining community gardens, and integrating food literacy into school curricula. They actively support local farmers markets and develop distribution channels that enhance access to healthy foods. After six months of experiential learning, each Fellow embarks on a Community Action Year, collaborating with regional non-profit organizations to apply their skills and knowledge. Applications are accepted until March, with the fellowship experience taking place from May to October each year.
