Havelock, NC US
At the Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Havelock, NC, we are dedicated to fostering a food system that champions social, environmental, and economic justice. Our program provides aspiring leaders with comprehensive education in organic farming and sustainable food practices, offering a unique opportunity to learn without financial burdens, as we do not charge tuition. Throughout the six-month immersive experiential learning period at the Allegheny Farm, Fellows engage in hands-on training that empowers them to grow and distribute a diverse range of crops, facilitate health-centric educational sessions, and maintain vital community and school gardens. Post-fellowship, our participants continue their journey through a Community Action Year, collaborating with regional non-profits to implement their knowledge and initiatives, such as supporting farmers markets and enhancing access to healthy foods. We believe in building a resilient food system for all, and we invite passionate individuals to apply by March for our May to October fellowship experience.
