Herring Human Services, a dedicated Clinical Social Worker and Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist, focuses on assisting individuals of all ages—including teens, adults, and elders—in achieving their life goals. Herring understands that the expectations we place on ourselves, others, and our surroundings can contribute to significant stress. With a compassionate approach, Herring guides clients in taming these expectations, leading to a more purposeful and fulfilling life. Utilizing an array of effective therapy types including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Herring has been empowering those seeking support since 1989. As a CCS credential holder since 1994 and an LCSW credential holder since 2000, Herring combines social work principles with individual strengths and community resources, fostering impactful change. Having previously served as Adjunct Faculty at ECU and MOC, Herring actively provides training across North Carolina, emphasizing family and individual care approaches. Since 2007, Herring has successfully owned and operated this practice, ensuring comprehensive support for those in need.
