Located in Forest City, NC, the Farm & Food Systems Fellowship empowers individuals to become leaders and advocates for a just food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic equity. Sponsored by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, this fellowship offers comprehensive, tuition-free training in organic food systems education. During the six-month residency at the Allegheny Farm Campus, Fellows gain hands-on experience in diverse agricultural practices, community engagement, and educational programming, including growing and distributing healthy crops and supporting local farmers markets. Each Fellow's journey continues with a Community Action Year, where they apply their skills and knowledge in collaboration with regional non-profits. Applications are welcomed until March each year, with the fellowship experience running from May to October, ensuring access to innovative and sustainable food initiatives for all.
