The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Burlington, NC, is dedicated to cultivating the next generation of advocates for a just and sustainable food system. Selected Fellows will immerse themselves in six months of hands-on training at the picturesque Allegheny Farm in Highland County, VA, where they will learn to grow and distribute diverse crops, develop and conduct educational sessions, and support local initiatives such as farmers markets and community gardens. Following their fellowship, participants will embark on a Community Action Year, applying their knowledge in collaboration with regional nonprofits to enhance food access and foster ecological literacy within schools and communities. Applications are due by March each year, with the fellowship experience running from May to October.
