Located in Troy, MO, the Farm & Food Systems Fellowship is dedicated to cultivating a new generation of advocates for an equitable and sustainable food system. We offer a unique opportunity for selected Fellows to engage in hands-on training at the Allegheny Farm in Highland County, VA, where they will learn the intricacies of organic food systems without any tuition cost, enhancing accessibility for all applicants. Throughout a six-month immersive program, Fellows will develop the skills to grow and distribute diverse crops, create educational initiatives in healthcare, maintain community and school gardens, and weave food and ecological literacy into educational activities. Our program also emphasizes community engagement by empowering participants to support farmers markets, connect consumers with local produce, and foster collaboration with regional non-profits during a subsequent Community Action Year. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the transformative farming experience spanning from May to October.
