Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

Located in Saint Peters, MO, the Farm & Food Systems Fellowship supports and empowers individuals seeking to become advocates for a just and sustainable food system. This fellowship, offered by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, ensures no tuition costs, making it accessible to all who wish to gain expertise in organic food systems. Fellows engage in immersive, hands-on education covering diverse topics such as crop cultivation on market-style farms, innovative health care education, and integration of food and ecological literacy in schools. Through collaborative efforts, they maintain community gardens, enhance farmers markets, and develop essential distribution channels to increase access to healthy food options. Over an enriching six-month residency at the Allegheny Farm Campus, followed by a Community Action Year, participants not only deepen their understanding of food systems but also contribute meaningfully to regional non-profit collaborations. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the fellowship experience typically commencing in May and running through October.
