The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Saint Charles, MO, is dedicated to training and empowering individuals to advocate for a food system that values social, environmental, and economic justice. This immersive program, offered by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, provides a unique opportunity for selected Fellows to engage in organic food system education without a tuition fee, ensuring accessibility for all. Throughout the six-month residential experience at Allegheny Farm, participants will learn to grow and distribute diverse crops, lead innovative health education sessions, maintain community gardens, and integrate food and ecological literacy into educational programs. Following their fellowship, participants will enter a Community Action Year, collaborating with regional non-profit organizations to enhance food access and promote sustainable practices. Applications are due by March each year, with the fellowship running from May to October, fostering the next generation of advocates for healthy food systems.
