The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship, based in Lake Saint Louis, MO, is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of advocates and educators for a just food system. This transformative program offers selected Fellows six months of hands-on, experiential learning at Allegheny Farm in Highland County, VA, focusing on organic food system education without tuition barriers to ensure accessibility for all. Fellows engage in meaningful projects such as growing and distributing diverse crops on a market-style farm, implementing innovative educational sessions in health care, maintaining community gardens, and enhancing food literacy in schools. Throughout their journey, they also support farmers markets and direct-to-consumer initiatives, develop strategies for better access to nutritious food, and collaborate with local non-profits during their Community Action Year to create a lasting impact. Applications are open until March each year, with the fellowship experience running from May to October.
