Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Kennett, MO, empowers individuals to become advocates for a just food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic equity. Sponsored by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, this fellowship offers a unique opportunity for hands-on education in organic food systems without any tuition costs, ensuring accessibility for all participants. Fellows engage in activities such as cultivating diversified crops on a market-style farm, leading educational initiatives in innovative healthcare, maintaining community gardens, and promoting food and ecological literacy in schools. Additionally, they support local farmers markets and develop distribution channels to enhance access to healthy foods. Over a six-month experiential program at AMI's Allegheny Farm Campus, selected individuals gain vital skills before applying their training in a Community Action Year with regional non-profits.
