The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship based in Farmington, MO, is dedicated to empowering leaders who advocate for a just and sustainable food system. Through a tuition-free program, we sponsor and train Fellows in organic farming and food education, enabling them to champion social, environmental, and economic justice within their communities. Our curriculum includes opportunities for hands-on experience with diversified crop production, innovative health care educational sessions, and the development of school and community gardens. Fellows gain the skills to integrate food and ecological literacy into educational activities, support farmers markets, and enhance access to healthy foods. Selected individuals participate in a six-month immersive experience at AMI’s Allegheny Farm Campus, followed by a Community Action Year, where they collaborate with regional non-profits to apply their knowledge and make a tangible impact. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the Fellowship experience running from May to October.
