Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

Dexter, MO US
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Dexter, MO, is dedicated to empowering individuals to become champions of an equitable and sustainable food system. Through comprehensive organic food system education, our Fellows engage in hands-on training at the Allegheny Farm, learning to advocate for social, environmental, and economic justice in food production. Participants have the opportunity to grow and distribute diverse crops, implement educational health initiatives, and maintain community gardens that enhance food literacy in schools. With a focus on increasing access to healthy foods, our program supports local farmers' markets and dedicates Fellows to mentoring future leaders in food advocacy. The Fellowship offers a unique six-month experiential learning program, followed by a Community Action Year where skills are put into practice alongside regional nonprofit partners. We believe in making this transformative experience accessible, which is why we do not charge tuition, and we welcome applicants to join us in fostering a healthier community through food justice.
