The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Carthage, MO is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of leaders in sustainable food systems. Our program empowers Fellows through comprehensive training and hands-on experience, fostering advocacy for a food system that is socially, environmentally, and economically just. With a focus on organic agriculture, our Fellowship offers enriching opportunities such as growing and distributing diversified crops, engaging in community health education, maintaining gardens, and enhancing food literacy in schools. Additionally, Fellows collaborate with local farmers' markets and community food coalitions to ensure increased access to healthy food. Through a six-month immersive experience at the Allegheny Farm, followed by a Community Action Year, our Fellows not only learn but also put their knowledge into action alongside regional non-profit organizations. We strive to make our education accessible, as there are no tuition fees for the Fellowship, promoting inclusivity and community impact.
