The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship, based in Cameron, MO, is dedicated to cultivating a new generation of leaders committed to a just and sustainable food system. This innovative program offers hands-on training and support for Fellows to engage in organic food system education, empowering them to advocate for environmental, social, and economic equity in food production. Throughout the Fellowship, participants will work on diversified crop cultivation, implement educational initiatives in healthcare, maintain community gardens, and integrate food and ecological literacy into local school activities. Additionally, they will engage in supporting farmers markets, developing distribution channels for healthy foods, and mentoring future cohorts. The immersive six-month experience takes place at AMI’s Allegheny Farm Campus, followed by a Community Action Year where Fellows apply their knowledge with regional non-profit organizations. With no tuition fees, the Fellowship promotes accessibility to all passionate individuals looking to make an impact in local food systems, with applications due by March for the experiences running from May to October.
