The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Zeeland, MI, is dedicated to nurturing future leaders who advocate for an equitable food system. Sponsored by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, this immersive program not only provides in-depth organic food system education at the beautiful Allegheny Farm Campus but also empowers Fellows to implement their learning in the community. Over six months, selected participants engage in hands-on training, learning to grow and distribute diverse crops while providing innovative educational sessions focused on health and nutrition. They also build critical skills to support local farmers markets, enhance access to healthy food, and manage community gardens. The Fellowship culminates in a Community Action Year where participants partner with regional non-profits, working collaboratively to drive change and mentor the next generation of advocates. With no tuition costs, we ensure that the pathway to impactful community service is accessible to all aspiring leaders in food justice. Applications are accepted through March for the program running from May to October.
