The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Lapeer, MI, empowers individuals to become passionate advocates and educators for a just food system. Our fellowship offers hands-on training with a focus on environmental sustainability, social equity, and economic viability within the food landscape. Through an immersive six-month program at our Allegheny Farm Campus, selected fellows gain essential skills in organic farming, food distribution, and community engagement. Participants learn to manage market-style farms, lead innovative health care educational sessions, and enhance local food access through farmers markets and community gardens. We prioritize accessibility by not charging tuition for the Farm and Food Study, ensuring that our programs are open to all enthusiastic individuals eager to make a difference. After their fellowship, participants embark on a Community Action Year, applying their newfound knowledge to support local non-profits in fostering healthier communities. Applications are accepted until March each year, with programs typically running from May through October.
