The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship, located in Howell, MI, is dedicated to cultivating a new generation of advocates and educators committed to a just and sustainable food system. Our Fellowship program offers robust, hands-on training at the Allegheny Farm, equipping selected participants with the skills to foster equity in food access, environmental stewardship, and economic vitality. Through a six-month immersive experience followed by a Community Action Year, Fellows engage with local partners to grow and distribute diverse crops, design innovative health education sessions, maintain community gardens, and enhance food literacy in schools. We believe in making quality education accessible, which is why we do not charge tuition for our Farm and Food Study program. By supporting farmers markets and developing channels for distributing healthy food options, we aim to empower communities and nurture the next wave of leaders in food advocacy. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the fellowship experience occurring from May to October.
