Stephanie Gaumer

Stephanie Gaumer is a dedicated Clinical Social Worker and therapist who is passionate about empowering individuals to discover their best selves. She understands the everyday pressures that athletes face and believes that no one should have to navigate these challenges alone. With expertise in addressing anxiety, depression, ADHD, and self-harm, she provides a compassionate and understanding environment for her clients. Having been a former member of the University of Michigan's women's gymnastics team, she possesses unique insight into the mental health aspects of sports performance, including fears, returning from injury, competition anxiety, and the transition to life after sports.

Trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Stephanie employs an evidence-based approach that emphasizes mindfulness, emotion regulation, interpersonal effectiveness, and distress tolerance. She also focuses on a person-centered, strengths-based methodology, encouraging clients to identify their own strengths and build upon them to achieve their goals. Establishing trust is paramount in therapy, and Stephanie is committed to ensuring that her clients feel comfortable and supported throughout their journey.
