Marilyn Mackay is a seasoned therapist with over 30 years of experience, dedicated to helping adults who have faced significant trauma. Her clients often struggle with depression, anxiety, anger, and diminished self-esteem. Additionally, she supports adolescents navigating challenges such as peer pressure, conflicts with parents or siblings, and various behavioral issues. Marilyn is known for her inclusive approach, working comfortably with individuals of all genders and having considerable experience with the LGBT community. Trained originally in family systems at California State University, Marilyn incorporates a broad, eclectic perspective in her therapeutic practice, ensuring that her methods resonate deeply with each client's unique journey. Her skill set includes clinical hypnotherapy and she is also a Reiki Master, trained in Breathwork and Shamanic Healing. Furthermore, she offers various traditional therapies, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Psychodynamic therapy, Client-Centered therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Family Systems therapy, along with Trauma-Informed Recovery (TIR) and, most recently, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Somatic Arts (SA).
