Located in Wilton, ME, the Farm & Food Systems Fellowship at the Allegheny Mountain Institute empowers individuals to become advocates and educators for a food system that champions social, environmental, and economic justice. Through a comprehensive six-month experiential program at our Allegheny Farm Campus, chosen Fellows receive organic food system education without tuition fees, ensuring accessibility for all participants. During their time, they will engage in diverse initiatives such as growing and distributing crops, maintaining community gardens, and integrating food and ecological literacy into educational programs. Following the fellowship, participants enter a Community Action Year where they partner with local non-profits to apply their skills in real-world contexts, from supporting farmers markets to developing channels for healthier food access. Applications are welcomed until March of each year, with experiences typically occurring from May to October.
