The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship based in Topsham, ME, is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of leaders in sustainable food systems. Through a hands-on, immersive experience at the Allegheny Farm in Highland County, VA, our program empowers Fellows to advocate for a food system that is socially, environmentally, and economically just. We provide comprehensive organic food system education without any tuition fees to ensure accessibility for all applicants. Throughout their six-month residency, selected Fellows engage in impactful projects such as growing and distributing diverse crops, creating educational health care initiatives, maintaining community gardens, and promoting food and ecological literacy in schools. Following their training, Fellows embark on a Community Action Year, collaborating with local non-profits to implement their learning in real-world settings. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the fellowship running from May to October.
