The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship, based in Standish, ME, is dedicated to fostering sustainable food systems through hands-on education and community engagement. We empower our Fellows to advocate for a food system that is socially, environmentally, and economically just by providing them with unique opportunities to learn and apply their knowledge at the Allegheny Farm Campus in Virginia. Our program offers comprehensive training in organic food system practices, enabling participants to grow and distribute diverse crops, maintain community gardens, and integrate food literacy into educational programs. Through collaborative initiatives with local non-profits, our Fellows make a meaningful impact by increasing access to healthy foods, supporting farmers markets, and mentoring future community leaders. Our commitment to accessibility means we do not charge tuition for the fellowship, allowing passionate individuals to join us in this vital mission. The journey begins with a six-month immersive experience followed by a Community Action Year, where fellows put their training into practice to create lasting change in the food landscape of their regions.
