South China, ME US
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in South China, ME, empowers aspiring leaders to champion a food system rooted in social, environmental, and economic justice. By offering a comprehensive, tuition-free program, we ensure that our training is accessible to all. Our Fellows engage in hands-on organic food system education, where they cultivate diversified crops on market-style farms, maintain community gardens, and facilitate educational sessions on health and nutrition. Throughout their six-month residency at our Allegheny Farm Campus, selected Fellows gain invaluable experience, which they apply during their Community Action Year by collaborating with local non-profits. Together, we work to enhance food literacy, support farmers markets, and develop distribution channels to increase access to nutritious foods for all. For those interested in joining, applications are accepted until March, with the fellowship running from May to October each year.
