In Rumford, ME, the Oxford County Food as Medicine Program is dedicated to ensuring those at risk for or living with pre-diabetes have access to nutritious food and essential support. Partnering with the National Diabetes Prevention Program, we offer a comprehensive, free, year-long initiative that includes fresh, frozen, and shelf-stable food delivered through our food pantry, along with empowering lifestyle coaching. Participants benefit from weekly healthy food bags, cooking skills training through the Cooking Matters Program, and opportunities for physical activity, all designed to promote holistic well-being. Our small, in-person classes foster peer relationships and provide ongoing support, meeting weekly for the first four months and bi-weekly thereafter. We invite you to join our community and take proactive steps towards a healthier life.
