Located in Portland, ME, Direct Assistance by The Salvation Army is dedicated to providing critical support to individuals and families facing hardship. Through our emergency food assistance program, we offer groceries and personal hygiene kits, ensuring that basic needs are met with dignity. In addition, our services extend to clothing, housing assistance, and fuel and energy support, while also addressing medical needs and transportation help. We connect those in need with additional resources, helping them navigate the challenges they face. For residents of Old Orchard Beach, Saco, Biddeford, Dayton, and Arundel, we provide rent assistance of up to $150 based on eligibility, available by appointment.
