The Oxford County Food as Medicine Program, located in Oxford, ME, is dedicated to helping individuals who struggle to access healthy food and are at risk for or affected by pre-diabetes. In partnership with the National Diabetes Prevention Program, we offer a comprehensive support system that includes fresh, frozen, and shelf-stable food, as well as healthy lifestyle coaching. Our year-long program features weekly classes designed for groups of at least eight participants, where they receive invaluable cooking skills training through the Cooking Matters Program, weekly bags of nutritious food with recipes, opportunities for physical activity, and a chance to build meaningful peer relationships. Classes are held weekly for the first four months and bi-weekly thereafter, empowering members to take charge of their health with confidence and community support. We invite you to join us in this transformative journey toward better health and wellness.
