The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship, based in Orrington, ME, empowers aspiring leaders to advocate for a food system that is equitable, sustainable, and resilient. Through a tuition-free program, the Fellowship offers participants comprehensive training in organic farming and food systems education at the picturesque Allegheny Farm in Virginia. Fellows engage in hands-on learning experiences while also working alongside local partners to cultivate diversified crops, establish educational healthcare initiatives, and maintain community gardens. They play a crucial role in enhancing food literacy in schools, supporting farmers markets, and improving access to nutritious foods across communities. Over a transformative six-month residency followed by a year dedicated to community action, selected individuals build vital skills and contribute to lasting positive change in their regions.
