Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP)

University of Maine - Cooperative Extension
307 Maine Ave
Orono, ME 04401 US
The Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) at the University of Maine Cooperative Extension in Orono is dedicated to empowering income-eligible adults with children through free, accessible nutrition and health education. If you receive assistance from programs like SNAP, WIC, or Head Start, you may qualify for our comprehensive services, which include learning how to cook nutritious recipes, select healthy foods, manage your grocery budget, practice safe food handling, and increase physical activity. While our facilities are temporarily closed to protect community health, our educators are ready to support you through virtual nutrition classes, offering both one-on-one and small group sessions. As we work through these challenging times, we invite you to check our updates and look forward to welcoming you back to our county offices this July, as we follow the guidance from UMaine to ensure everyone's safety.
