The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Old Orchard Beach, ME is dedicated to cultivating the next generation of leaders in sustainable agriculture and food justice. We provide a comprehensive, no-cost program that empowers our Fellows with essential organic food system education, enabling them to advocate for a food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic equity. Throughout a transformative six-month residential experience at the Allegheny Farm Campus, participants gain hands-on training in diverse crop production, community gardening, and innovative health education. They also engage in vital initiatives such as supporting local farmers markets and creating distribution channels for healthy food access. Following their time at the farm, Fellows embark on a Community Action Year, partnering with local non-profits to implement their training and foster food literacy. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the fellowship running from May to October, making it an impactful opportunity for those committed to food assistance and local food systems.
