The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship, based in North Yarmouth, ME, is dedicated to cultivating future leaders who advocate for a food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic justice. Through immersive, hands-on experiences at the Allegheny Farm in Highland County, VA, our program eliminates financial barriers by providing tuition-free education in organic food systems. Selected Fellows engage in transformative projects, such as growing and distributing diverse crops, implementing health-focused educational sessions, maintaining community gardens, and advancing food and ecological literacy in schools. With a focus on increasing access to healthy foods and supporting local food coalitions, our Fellows gain invaluable skills during a six-month residential study, followed by a Community Action Year where they collaborate with regional non-profits. We invite passionate individuals to apply by March each year for a dynamic experience running from May to October, helping to reshape local food systems and empower communities.
