The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Lewiston, ME, is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of advocates for a just and sustainable food system. By sponsoring and training motivated individuals, we equip Fellows with vital knowledge in organic agriculture, food literacy, and community engagement without imposing tuition fees, ensuring accessibility for all. Over a transformative six-month experience at AMI’s Allegheny Farm Campus, participants immerse themselves in hands-on education and then embark on a Community Action Year, working alongside local non-profits to promote food assistance initiatives, develop diversified crop distribution channels, and enhance community health through educational programs. Our mission is rooted in fostering an environmentally sound, socially responsible, and economically viable food ecosystem that empowers both individuals and communities to thrive together.
