Kittery, ME US
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Kittery, ME is dedicated to fostering a sustainable food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic justice. We empower a diverse group of Fellows through hands-on training and education in organic food systems, enabling them to become advocates for change. Our program is uniquely designed to promote accessibility, with no tuition fees, and spans six months of immersive learning on the Allegheny Farm in Highland County, VA. During this experiential residency, Fellows acquire skills in growing and distributing diversified crops, facilitating educational initiatives in health care, maintaining community gardens, and promoting food literacy in schools. The journey continues with a Community Action Year, where Fellows partner with local non-profit organizations to put their skills into practice. Interested candidates should apply by March for an enriching experience from May to October, as we work together to enhance food accessibility and support community food initiatives.
