The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Jay, ME is dedicated to cultivating the next generation of advocates for a just food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic equity. By sponsoring and training passionate individuals, we empower Fellows to become effective teachers within their communities, addressing critical issues such as food accessibility and sustainability. Our program, which emphasizes organic food system education, provides valuable hands-on experiences in a market-style farm setting, educational initiatives related to health care, and support for community gardens and local farmers markets. Over six months of immersive training at our Allegheny Farm Campus, followed by a Community Action Year, Fellows are equipped to implement impactful projects in partnership with local non-profits. Our commitment to accessibility means that we do not charge tuition, ensuring that everyone can participate and contribute to advancing food assistance efforts in their communities.
