The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship, based in Houlton, ME, is dedicated to cultivating leaders in sustainable food systems. Our program sponsors and trains passionate individuals to advocate for food justice that is socially, environmentally, and economically fair. Over six months, selected Fellows engage in hands-on learning at our Allegheny Farm Campus, where they receive comprehensive education on organic food systems and work on diverse community projects. These include growing and distributing crops, creating school gardens, and conducting health-oriented educational sessions. By promoting food and ecological literacy and supporting local markets, we empower our Fellows to make meaningful contributions to their communities. After their intensive training, Fellows spend a Community Action Year collaborating with regional non-profits, ensuring that the knowledge gained is directly applied to enhance access to healthy foods and strengthen local food initiatives. Applications are welcomed until March for the upcoming cohort, with the program running from May to October.
