Based in Hollis Center, ME, the Farm & Food Systems Fellowship at the Allegheny Mountain Institute cultivates committed advocates for a just and sustainable food system. Our fellowship empowers individuals through comprehensive, no-cost organic food system education, ensuring access and inclusivity for all participants. Fellows engage in hands-on learning at our Allegheny Farm Campus, where they gain vital skills in growing and distributing diverse crops, maintaining community gardens, and integrating food and ecological literacy into educational activities. Throughout the fellowship, participants collaborate with local non-profit organizations to create meaningful community impact, mentor future fellows, and support initiatives that enhance access to healthy foods. The fellowship includes a six-month intensive training period followed by a Community Action Year, providing a rich platform for practical application and lasting change within the food landscape. Applications are welcomed until March of each year, with the program typically running from May to October.
