The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship, based in Holden, ME, is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of leaders in sustainable agriculture and food justice. Our program empowers Fellows by providing comprehensive training in organic food systems, enabling them to advocate for equitable, environmentally conscious, and economically viable practices. Through hands-on experience at the Allegheny Farm in Highland County, VA, participants engage in activities such as growing diverse crops, leading community gardens, and promoting food literacy within school programs. We believe in making our Fellowship accessible by charging no tuition fees, ensuring that aspiring advocates from all backgrounds can join us. Our commitment extends beyond training, as selected Fellows enter a Community Action Year, collaborating with regional non-profits to reinforce food equity efforts, support farmers markets, and enhance access to healthy food options. Applications are accepted until March each year for the hands-on experience that runs from May to October.
